Piet Retief: Sawmill Manager

About the Role

The Sawmill Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a sawmill, ensuring efficient production and maintaining high-quality products. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as experience in production planning and plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage production planning and scheduling to meet operational targets
• Oversee plant operations to ensure efficiency and quality control
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs
• Enforce statutory compliance with the OHS Act
• Maintain sound knowledge of SANS standards for structural board grading

Requirements

• BTech / National Diploma in Wood Technology (advantageous)
• Engineering Qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production or similar) (advantageous)
• Industrial Process / Production Management qualification
• 6 Years experience within a production or manufacturing environment
• 4 Years management experience
