About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chargehand to join our team at Route Management in Pinetown. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the workshop and ensuring that all repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Motivate and control employees in the workshop;
  • Report back to management on progress of repairs on trailers;
  • Outside running of repairs;
  • Receiving and completion of job cards;
  • Quality control on all service work;
  • Completion of service check sheet;
  • Reporting of additional work found on trailers;
  • Applying discipline in the workshop;
  • Ensure employees timesheets are correct and submitted before deadlines;
  • Delivery of trailers in time given.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in trailer manufacturing and repairs
  • Previous work experience or qualifications in mechanical work/Boiler making/Welding
  • Mechanically and technically able;
  • Trailer parts knowledge;
  • Leadership skills;
  • Bilingual;
  • Deadline driven;
  • Able to work under pressure;
  • Able to work overtime;
  • Good general health.
  • Must produce quality of work;
  • Must be able to delegate;
  • Own transport

Qualifications

  • Matric (an advantage)
