About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Chargehand to join our team at Route Management in Pinetown. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the workshop and ensuring that all repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Motivate and control employees in the workshop;
- Report back to management on progress of repairs on trailers;
- Outside running of repairs;
- Receiving and completion of job cards;
- Quality control on all service work;
- Completion of service check sheet;
- Reporting of additional work found on trailers;
- Applying discipline in the workshop;
- Ensure employees timesheets are correct and submitted before deadlines;
- Delivery of trailers in time given.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in trailer manufacturing and repairs
- Previous work experience or qualifications in mechanical work/Boiler making/Welding
- Mechanically and technically able;
- Trailer parts knowledge;
- Leadership skills;
- Bilingual;
- Deadline driven;
- Able to work under pressure;
- Able to work overtime;
- Good general health.
- Must produce quality of work;
- Must be able to delegate;
- Own transport
Qualifications
- Matric (an advantage)
