Job Description

About the Role

Hire Resolve, a leading client in the Supply Chain industry, is seeking an experienced Warehouse & Distribution Manager to join their team in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive operational growth, while ensuring the safe and efficient management of warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategies for operational growth to facilitate business targets
Manage and supervise staff, including mentoring and guiding staff to achieve relevant KPIs and continue to improve and grow within the business
Maintain and enforce all health and safety protocols in the warehouse and conduct regular toolbox talks with staff to facilitate a culture of safety within the warehouse
Maintain all equipment, vehicles, and forklifts to ensure they are in good working order and adhere to safety requirements
Investigate and document all incidents within the department by means of the Sheq system
Ensure 5S standards and housekeeping are always maintained
Ensure adherence to all relevant ISO Quality and Environmental standards, and all necessary documentation required is maintained and reported at audits
Obtain quotes, as required, for capex, maintenance, or other purchases required for the warehouse
Layout of warehouse to ensure optimum space utilization and safe storage of all stocks as per legislative requirements and to maintain FIFO and batch traceability
Maintain the accuracy of inventory by enforcing tight control of all inbound and outbound movements and transactions and through conducting regular perpetual counts and quarterly counts
Ensure all documented information and records are maintained in line with company requirements

Requirements

A qualification in supply chain management or a business degree
A minimum of 5 years experience in a chemical manufacturing industry and similar role
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
Sage proficiency
