About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Engineer to join their team in Cape Town, WC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in renewable energy sales and a strong technical understanding of solar PV, battery energy storage systems, diesel generators, and electrical reticulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop sales opportunities for renewable energy solutions focusing medium to large C&I projects
- Work with internal team and/or customers to develop optimized technical solutions for renewable energy projects
- Preliminary technical solution design, costing, and proposal write-up
- Assist client contract negotiations
- Develop sales with new and existing accounts in assigned areas to meet business targets
- Develop competitive strategies to sales objectives and maintain knowledge of competitor activity
- Provide input on the business plan to ensure sales sustainability
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers within the industry
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years technical sales experience in renewable energy or related
- Technical understanding of solar PV, battery energy storage systems, diesel generators, and electrical reticulation
- Ability to work with customers and partners on technical questions and solutions
- Ability to coordinate amongst multidisciplinary teams (both internally and externally)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and spoken
- Ability to work well in a matrix organizational structure
- Knowledge of project management will be advantageous
- Previous large scale solar installations knowledge will be an advantage
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering
