About the Role

Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Warehouse & Distribution Manager to join their team in KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving operational growth and ensuring the efficient management of their client’s supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for operational growth to facilitate business targets
  • Managing and supervising staff, including mentoring and guiding staff so they can achieve relevant KPIs and continue to improve and grow within the business
  • Maintain and enforce all health and safety protocols in the warehouse and conduct regular toolbox talks with staff to facilitate a culture of safety within the warehouse
  • Maintain all equipment, vehicles, and forklifts to ensure they are in good working order and adhere to safety requirements
  • Investigation and documentation of all incidents within the department by means of the Sheq system
  • Ensure 5S standards and housekeeping are always maintained
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant ISO Quality and Environmental standards, and all necessary documentation required is maintained and reported at audits
  • Obtain quotes, as required, for capex, maintenance, or other purchases required for the warehouse
  • Layout of warehouse to ensure optimum space utilization and safe storage of all stocks as per legislative requirements and to maintain FIFO and batch traceability
  • Maintain the accuracy of inventory by enforcing tight control of all inbound and outbound movements and transactions and through conducting regular perpetual counts and quarterly counts
  • Ensure all documented information and records are maintained in line with company requirements

Requirements

  • Qualification in supply chain management or a business degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a chemical manufacturing industry and similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Sage
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Effective problem solving abilities
  • Strategic planning expertise
  • Proven effective leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and diligent
