Job Description

A food ingredient manufacturer and meat/poultry processing equipment supplier requires a Junior Workshop Technician to join their team. This position will report to the Regional Workshops and Spares Manager. Key duties will include but are not limited to: – Support troubleshooting and basic repair of machinery while learning from senior technicians. – Develop skills in reading and understanding manuals, diagrams, and schematics. – Assist with equipment tests and help record and interpret results. – Take part in installations, commissioning, and customer training alongside experienced staff. – Contribute to simple service notes and reports under guidance. – Carry out routine maintenance tasks in the workshop or on-site with supervision. – Provide initial assistance to customers and refer complex issues to senior team members. – Follow planned schedules for customer service and breakdown support. – Learn to identify and prepare required spare parts and tools for jobs. – Maintain safe working practices in the workshop and at customer sites. – Gain experience as part of the standby support team when required. Key Requirements: Matric or equivalent NQF. Must be a trade tested Millwright with strong electrical/ Instrumentation experience. 1 years plus working experience within a related field. Experience within Food and Beverage would be an advantage. Field service experience ideal. Valid drivers license and must be willing to travel to clients. Additional Requirements: Planning and organizing ability. Time management and good communication skills. Driven and goal orientated.
