About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Field Guide to join our luxury game lodge in Pongola. As a senior member of our guiding team, you will be fully responsible for conducting guided safari experiences that are unique, personalized, professional, and enjoyable. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that every guest has an all-encompassing wildlife experience tailored to their specific needs. With humility, professionalism, and flexibility, you will deliver exceptional service to our guests while maintaining a deep respect for the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct guided safari experiences for guests in line with Standard of Excellence
- Host guests with exceptional appreciation and sensitivity to the environment
- Ensure guest and staff safety at all times
- Communicate effectively with Front of House staff to provide best possible experience for guests
- Carry out conscientious maintenance and care of game drive vehicles and related equipment
- Undertake administration duties timeously and effectively
- Achieve service excellence through teamwork
Requirements
- Grade 12 FGASA qualification or higher with theory and practical completed
- Registered with DEAT and THETA in terms of improving qualifications
- Rifle assessment as well as trails guide examination
- Backup or Trails guide certificate
- A minimum of 4 years work experience as a field guide in a similar lodge environment
- Valid first aid certificate
- SASSETA certificates
- Valid South African Code 8 Driver’s license and PDP
Qualifications
- Registered with DEAT and THETA for improving qualifications
