About the Role
Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced and qualified Assistant HR Manager to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with business objectives, managing recruitment and onboarding processes, and ensuring compliance with Labour Legislation and Employment Equity requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning processes
- Oversee Employee Relations, grievance handling, and disciplinary processes
- Drive Employee Engagement initiatives and promote a positive workplace culture
- Administer payroll, benefits, and HR systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Lead and develop the HR team, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration
Requirements
- 57 years of experience in HR management or senior HR generalist roles
- Strong knowledge of South African Labour Laws and HR best practices
- Experience with HR systems, payroll administration, and talent development
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, or related field – an Honours Degree is preferred
Special Requirements
- Must be prepared to work additional hours when required
- Valid drivers licence
