Job Summary
Key Performance Areas for Purchasing Manager: Oversee purchasing of all raw materials to support plant operations. Manage purchasing and control of all consumables. Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers. Develop and maintain supplier relationships. Identify and develop new or alternative supply sources by: Maintaining a supplier tender list. Supporting local business initiatives. Preparing and issuing quotation requests. Researching new products and vendors. Supervise stores personnel and maintain acceptable stock levels of consumables. Assist in value analysis of specific products. Maintain and update the information database. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely order deliveries. Evaluate and adjust for price variations as needed. Expedite and track outstanding orders. Prepare monthly performance reports and maintain filing. Manage all imported materials for production. Coordinate with the Department of Customs and Excise. Qualifications: National Diploma or BTech in Purchasing or Logistics BCom in Supply Chain Management (advantageous) Work Experience: 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, logistics, and overall supply chain management Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role with knowledge of OHS Act and risk assessments Strong understanding of material control, purchasing, and factory processes and procedures Other
Requirements:
Computer literacy essential (Intermediate/Advanced Excel, email, written & oral communication) Excellent disciplinary and attendance records Strong numeracy, reasoning, measurement, and data analysis skills High attention to detail Strong decision-making and organizational skills Ability to work under pressure and as a team player Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proactive, innovative, honest, and demonstrates integrity
