Large and well-established group in the agriculture sector wants to employ a motivated and experienced Regional Financial Accountant. This group has interests across the country and this role will be situated in Port Elizabeth.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates having completed SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA articles with post articles experience to gain experience and add value to a company in an established and flourishing industry. Candidates qualified by experience with related industry-specific knowledge and experience will also be considered. There are solid growth prospects within the position, organisation and personally.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years accounting and finance experience with post-articles experience a definite benefit. Commercial or article exposure within the agriculture, citrus, processing, or production environment will be highly beneficial.

The incumbent will support the Packhouses and Farms by ensuring that the appropriate financial control systems and accounting procedures are effectively implemented. Ensuring all systems within the relevant Business Units comply with the appropriate financial governance, accounting standards and organisational policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilit0ies:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting.
• Ensures transactions are supported by the appropriate documentation and are captured accurately and timeously.
• Ensures integrity of accounting records by adhering to policies and procedures and internal controls.
• Manage the packhouse and farms balance sheets and books.
• Adherence to relevant laws and regulations by staying up-to-date with legislation.
• Advise financial managers and officers of updated regulations.
• Upload all bank payments for packhouses and farms in the region.
• Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with vendor take on processes.
• Reconciliation of all transactions packhouses and farms in region.
• Distribute financial management reports.
• Review and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Assist with the preparation for annual audits for farms and packhouses in the region.
• Prepare and complete internal cost audits for regions packhouses and farms.
• Identity and recommend cost-effective solutions for the region.
• Follow internal controls and maintain financial security.
• Analysis of costs and recommend cost saving methods.
• Complete and submit VAT returns.
• Ensure finance filing system is maintained and accessible for quick and efficient document retrieval.
• Perform ad hoc duties and tasks.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or similar.
• Completed SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles preferred.
• PA(SA), CGMA ACMA (CIMA) or related designation seen as a positive.
• Minimum 3 years experience.
• MS Excel skills essential.
• Agriculture, citrus, processing, manufacturing, or production environment beneficial.
• Navision, Pastel, Business Central or similar ERP experience a bonus.

Remuneration:

• R360,000 to R480,000 per annum ctc.
