AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN (SOFTWARE) Our client, an industrial automation and robotics company, is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to join their Pretoria team! • Location: Pretoria • Salary: R25,000 – R35,000 • Working Hours: 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday (overtime sometimes required) What You’ll Do: • Install electrical and automation systems • Program and troubleshoot PLCs and robotic systems • Conduct fault-finding and debugging on automation equipment • Collaborate with installation teams on project success • Create and maintain project documentation and reports • Assist with mechanical and electrical installations • Provide guidance and training to junior staff • Travel to client sites as needed (including abroad for extended periods – 3 months) Essential Experience: • Proven PLC programming and robot programming experience. • Automotive sector experience preferred. • Kuka Robots, Beckhoff and Siemens PLCs experience highly advantageous. Required Qualifications: • Degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or Industrial Automation • OR • Applicable trade certificate (Electrical, Millwright, or Mechatronic) Technical Skills: • Proficiency in various programming languages • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical installation processes • Able to read and understand electrical drawings • MS Windows, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Project • AutoCAD experience advantageous Key Requirements: • Valid driver’s license and own transportation • Willingness to travel (including international assignments) • Willingness to work overtime as required
