About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a Call Centre Operator to join their team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating truck and trailer breakdowns, managing diesel authorizations, capturing load and journey data, monitoring route compliance, and ensuring adherence to journey and sleep plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle Truck and Trailer Breakdowns:
- Receive and log breakdown calls from drivers.
- Arrange repairs with approved truck dealerships or service providers.
- Provide regular updates to the Fleet Controller.
- Record all breakdown details in the breakdown book for morning handover.
- Manage Diesel Authorizations:
- Direct drivers to approved diesel filling stations.
- Approve diesel requests and provide authorization numbers.
- Record diesel details (fleet number, litres, date, time, and kilometres) on the system.
- Capture Load Information:
- Enter details for each truck’s loading and offloading, including client info, times, load mass, and kilometres.
- Monitor truck routes and report any unauthorized deviations.
- Journey Management:
- Monitor driver adherence to designated routes and sleep plans.
- Inform Fleet Controllers of any delays or deviations.
- Wake drivers as needed according to sleep plans.
- Initiate recovery protocols in case of accidents or hijackings.
- Pool Vehicle Management:
- Manage bookings and usage of pool vehicles.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections.
- Report damages to the Technical Manager.
Requirements
- Gr 12 or equivalent (required)
- Diploma or similar in Logistics or Transport Management (advantage but not essential)
- 2-3 years experience in similar position within the logistics & transport industry
- English (must), Afrikaans (desired) and other official language (advantage)
- Willing to work shifts (including weekends)
