Job Description
Position Purpose
To systematically collect, cleanse, analyse, interpret and transform data into meaningful insights that inform strategic and operational decision-making.
The role requires applying statistical techniques and analytical tools to uncover patterns, trends and relationships that support evidence-based planning and improved service delivery within the public sector environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis

Support data collection initiatives across various programmes and projects
-
Conduct statistical analysis and interpret complex datasets
-
Identify trends, patterns and relationships within data
-
Draw meaningful conclusions to inform decision-making
-
Generate actionable insights and recommendations
-
Apply descriptive and analytical statistical techniques
-
Utilise tools such as Excel, SPSS, R, Python and other analytics software
Reporting & Information Outputs
-
Compile detailed analytical reports and sector profiles
-
Develop dashboards and data visualisations (graphs, charts, tables)
-
Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Provide written briefs and presentations to support strategic planning
-
Contribute to regular information updates and sector intelligence outputs
Systems & Dashboard Support

Support development and enhancement of data applications and dashboards
-
Assist in monitoring and reporting frameworks
-
Ensure accurate and timely dissemination of analytical findings
Stakeholder Engagement

Engage internal and external stakeholders for data sourcing and validation

Build collaborative working relationships
-
Communicate complex data findings in a clear and structured manner
Minimum Requirements Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Systems or related field

Postgraduate qualification advantageous
Experience

Minimum 5 years experience in data analytics or related role

Proven experience in:

Experience within a public sector or governance-related environment advantageous
Technical Competencies

Strong statistical analysis capability

Advanced MS Excel skills
