About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Armored Vehicle Design Engineer to join our advanced engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, analysis, and development of next-generation armored and tactical vehicles. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure our platforms meet stringent performance, survivability, and mobility requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual and detailed design of armored vehicle hulls, structures, and subsystems.
- Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings to industry and military standards.
- Conduct ballistic survivability analysis, blast modelling, and structural integrity assessments.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to integrate protection systems, drivetrains, suspensions, and mission equipment.
- Participate in prototype build support, testing, and design validation activities.
- Identify manufacturing considerations, weight-optimisation opportunities, and cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in vehicle design, preferably within armored, military, or heavy-duty platforms.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Creo).
- Strong understanding of materials engineering, including steel armor, composites, and blast-resistant structures.
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of STANAG, MIL-STD, or equivalent defense standards is an advantage.
