About the Role
The EIM Data Analyst Discovery & Profiling role involves applying data discovery mechanisms to establish data assets, identifying data profiles, and informing handling protocols within the context of business value drivers, processes, and data products.
Key Responsibilities
- Discover data by applying data discovery mechanisms
- Identify data profiles of discovered data assets to determine sensitivity, quality, context of use, and legislated aspects
- Implement standards, guidelines, processes, procedures for data analysis
- Establish relationships between data elements and their impact on the business
- Conduct data analysis to determine various categories of data
- Apply data valuation techniques to determine importance of data to business and probability of reuse
- Generate regular reports, deliver actionable insights, and provide timely status updates
- Provide inputs (legislative prescripts, sensitivity classifications, access/authorisation rules) as data transitions from source to destination and data at rest
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (e.g., BCom Informatics, BSc Information Systems, BSc Informatics, BTech)
- Data Management Certification (e.g. DAMA CDMP) an added advantage
- Minimum eight years’ experience in business analysis
- Solid exposure to Agile
- Advanced knowledge of Information Management
- Basic software applications (e.g., Microsoft (MS) Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Internet and e-mail)
- Skilled in using Data Quality tools
