Job Summary
Employer Description
Our client`s key focus is on strategic water, geotechnical studies, environmental services, geological services, civil design and construction services. Their projects are (nationally and internationally) which includes environmental and water projects, minerals exploration, geophysical survey and geotechnical project since its establishment in 2015.
Job Description
You will be required to:
- Undertake Hydrological Impact Assessment.
- Calculate Water and Salt Balance.
- Undertake Flood Line Calculations.
- Compile Stormwater Management Plan.
- Do Surface Water Impact Studies.
- Prepare written reports and presentations of findings.
- Estimate water properties (e.g., volume, mass).
- Develop techniques to improve water quantity and quality.
- Analyse water and soil samples and measure contamination levels.
- Measure environmental impact of erosion, droughts, and floods.
- Predict floods, droughts, and snowstorms.
- Monitor pollution levels in rivers, streams etc.
- Run computer-aided models to analyse data.
- Present findings to managers and policymakers
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists.
- Participate in the construction of dams, hydroelectric power plants, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor`s Degree in Hydrology and a master`s degree would be of high advantage.
- Registration with EAPASA or SPNA is desirable.
Skills
- Notable experience as a hydrologist as per the job description.
- Working knowledge of GIS and GPS applications.
- Hands-on experience running Hydrological model such as UPD (i.e., Utility Program for
Drainage Systems). - Efficiency in writing reports and giving presentations.
