GENERAL DESCRIPTION Supervise and regulate the management of the liquor store WORK ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. STAFF MANAGEMENT: Hiring and Training : Recruit, interview, and hire new staff. Conduct comprehensive training on company policies, product knowledge, customer service, and compliance with legal regulations. Scheduling : Create and manage employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing during peak and off-peak hours. Performance Evaluation : Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews. Address any issues or disciplinary actions as needed. 2. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT: Stock Control : Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock is maintained. Order products as needed and manage stock replenishment to prevent shortages or overstock. Product Ordering : Place orders with suppliers, negotiate prices, and manage relationships with vendors. Ensure timely delivery and proper storage of products. GRV all invoices Inventory Audits : Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with records, identify discrepancies, and address potential theft or loss. 3. SALES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE: Customer Interaction : Provide excellent customer service, resolve complaints, and handle customer inquiries. Ensure a welcoming and professional store environment. Sales Strategies : Develop and implement sales strategies to boost revenue. Promote new products, seasonal promotions, and loyalty programs. Merchandising : Organize and display products attractively to maximize sales. Monitor product placement and update displays based on trends and promotions. 4. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: Budgeting: Develop and manage the stores budget. Monitor financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profitability. Cash Handling: Oversee cash handling procedures, including cash register operations, end-of-day reconciliations, and bank deposits. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of sales, expenses, and other financial transactions. 5. COMPLIANCE AND LEGAL DUTIES: Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the store adheres to all local, provincial, and federal regulations related to the sale of alcohol, including licensing, age restrictions, and reporting requirements. Health and Safety : Implement and enforce health and safety protocols, including sanitation practices and emergency procedures. Ensure compliance with occupational safety standards. Age Verification: Supervise the implementation of procedures for verifying the age of customers purchasing alcoholic beverages. 6. STORE MAINTENANCE: Facility Upkeep: Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-maintained. Oversee routine maintenance and address any repairs or issues. Equipment Management: Manage store equipment, including point-of-sale systems, refrigerators, and security systems. Arrange for repairs and replacements as necessary. 7. MARKETING AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Promotions : Plan and execute in-store promotions, events, and marketing campaigns to attract customers and increase sales. Community Relations : Build and maintain relationships with the local community and participate in community events or sponsorships to enhance the stores presence and reputation. 8. REPORTING AND COMMUNICATION: Reporting : Prepare and submit regular reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics to upper management or owners. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with staff, vendors, and corporate office. Relay important information and updates as needed. 9. CRISIS MANAGEMENT: Problem Resolution : Address and resolve any crises or emergencies that arise, such as incidents of theft, accidents, or staff conflicts. Contingency Planning : Develop and implement contingency plans for unexpected situations, including natural disasters or major disruptions. 10. STRATEGIC PLANNING: Business Development: Analyze market trends and customer preferences to develop strategies for business growth and competitive advantage. Goal Setting: Set and pursue specific goals for sales targets, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Control of the storeroom keys and all stock going in or out. Repack and ensuring the storerooms including containers are clean and tidy. Ensure empties gets done daily Ensure that all new assets are recorded in the asset register. Manage and plan maintenance on all machines and monitor machine repairs and obtain the needed certificates involved. Ensure the checking of all stock regarding the shop at the drive thru Manage employees leave and ensure that leave is submitted a week prior. Prepare account and payment daily and weekly. Weekly stock take and capturing thereof. Checking emails and complete as needed. Managing prices of all products in both shops and keeping it up to date. Ordering of uniform for new employees. Control lunch times and shift between the packers. Management of staff, issuing of warning and booking hearings with HR when needed. Performing any other duties/activities reasonably related to the above functions which management may instruct from time to time. Purchase every other week. Prices back office and in store.
