About the Role
Our client, a reputable legal firm, is seeking a motivated Post-Admission Attorney with 35 years litigation experience. The ideal candidate will handle litigation matters efficiently, manage client relationships professionally, and assist in commercial and trust-related legal matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and manage pleadings, affidavits, notices of motion, and other court documents
- Attend court proceedings, pre-trial conferences, mediations, and client meetings
- Conduct legal research, prepare opinions, and advise clients on merits and risks
- Manage case files, track deadlines, and liaise with counsel and courts
- Prepare settlements, negotiate on behalf of clients, and manage out-of-court resolutions
- Maintain compliance with ethical and professional standards and stay updated on legislation and case law
Requirements
- Admitted attorney with 35 years litigation experience post-admission
- Experience in commercial litigation or legal suits; trust-related experience advantageous
- Excellent drafting and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English essential
- Strong analytical, research, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and work under pressure
