About the Role
We are seeking an Independent Short-term Insurance Broker (Commercial) to join our team in Pretoria. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for generating new business leads, building relationships with clients, and driving growth for our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Generating own leads
- Handling and reporting on leads from Financial Advisors
- Cold calling
- Gathering information and documentation needed to request quotes from insurers and fulfil compliance standards
- Performing needs analysis for each client before quoting
- Building a trust relationship with clients
- Requesting quotes from different insurers and do comparison for client
- Making sure that all compliance documentation is completed and discussed with client
- Handling of client from lead to activation of policy
- Could be called on to aid at renewal stage of policy
- All communication with client from first contact to supplying new policy welcome pack and following up for initial outstanding information
- Administration function of activating new policy and cancelling old policy if client comes over from another broker
- Reporting to Manager and Financial Advisors on Leads and production figures
- Remain Fit and Proper, throughout
- Rerouting of clients to underwriting and claims when needed
Requirements
- Entrepreneurial mind-set (must be able to work independently)
- Exceptional Interpersonal skills and ability to network
- An established network of clients and ability to prospect for new business
- Innovative in finding new ways to market and obtain clients
- Unrivalled sales ability
- Ability to apply tenacity
- Effective planning, organising and time management skills
Qualifications
- Computer literate with knowledge in Excel, Word and MS Suite
- Grade 12
- RE5 Certificate completed
- NQF 4 in Short-term insurance (commercial lines)
- 3 years+ Insurance Sales experience to Businesses
- 1 year+ Client Services experience
- Own reliable vehicle and valid drivers license
Salary & Benefits
A basic salary for 5 months which will become commission only in month 6.
