Job Description

Our company is currently seeking a junior bookkeeper with a bookkeeping Diploma. Performance competencies: – Microsoft Office Skills – Must be able to work well with money & figures – Ability to learn fast – Work & paperwork must be neat & tidy – Must work efficiently – Ability to work independently – Ability to work well under pressure – Must have a vibrant and approachable personality – Must be able to pick up mistakes and resolve them Key responsibilities – Office Administration (training will also be given): – Answering calls, assisting with messages – Data capturing costings & expenses on Excel and Pastel – Typing letters & formatting documents – Scanning & emailing documents – Filling in forms & applications – General filing, document keeping and assisting with setup of systems – Minutes at meetings – Insurance claims submissions Key responsibilities: Bookkeeping: – Daily processing on Pastel (good knowledge of Pastel not negotiable) – Following up on debtors’ payments – Sending out statements – Invoicing – Assistance with recons Working Hours: 7h00 to 16h00 Punctuality in the morning is important! The following is ESSENTIAL: – Bookkeeping diploma or certificate, or any relevant qualification – 1 year plus experience in bookkeeping and administration – Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel & Outlook) – Driver’s License & Own transport – Read & write English fluently. Afrikaans is an advantage – Experience with Pastel accounting software
