Job Summary
Employer Description This is a company that supplies machinery used within heavy engineering applications Job Description Your responsibilities are the following: Strip and assess, repair, assemble, fit, and install mechanical and electrical components and equipment. Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure accurate assembly. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment and machinery. Use a variety of hand and power tools to complete tasks efficiently and accurately. Inspect and test completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and operational requirements. Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and resolve any mechanical issues or improvements. Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of assembly and maintenance activities. Qualifications Matric Relevant certification or apprenticeship in mechanical fitting or a related field. Skills Minimum of 5 years` experience in heavy industry Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role in a manufacturing / workshop environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, tools, and equipment. Electrical knowledge and/or experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Proficiency in using hand and power tools. Computer literate Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and machinery.
