Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Executive Department: Sales & Business Development Reports To: Head of Sales / Sales Director Location: Head Office (Gauteng Roodepoort) Employment Type: Full-time Permanent Closing Date for Applications: 31 January 2026 Purpose of the Role To aggressively drive revenue growth by hunting new business, expanding the client base, and ensuring long-term client relationships that secure the company remains sustainable and market-leading. Key Responsibilities Drive sales by sourcing new clients, liaison with existing customers, generate new business to ensure company longevity: Lead Generation Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking and outreach to potential clients Client Relationship Management Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to ensure long-term engagement and satisfaction Sales Strategy Development Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve individual and team targets, focussing on acquiring new clients and expanding market presence. Market research Analyse industry trends and competitor activities to inform business strategies and identify growth opportunities Proposal and Contract Negotiation Prepare business proposals and negotiate contracts with clients to secure favourable terms and conditions. Collaboration Work closely with internal sales teams, including marketing and product development teams, to align strategies and enhance service offerings Personal Characteristics Emotional Self Control: ability to keep ones needs and emotions under control. It is being able to restrain negative actions when provoked, when faced with opposition or hostility from others, or when working under pressure. Trustworthiness: ability to take action that is consistent with what one says and values that are displayed. Adaptability/ Flexibility: ability and willingness to be flexible, to adapt to and work effectively within a variety of changing situations and with various individuals and groups. Initiative: This is the ability to identify a problem, obstacle or opportunity and take action on it; and be willing to be held accountable for own actions and ideas. Service Orientation: ability of an individual to be driven by the desire to help or serve others (within the department or the public) in order to meet their needs. Conflict Management: ability to handle difficult individuals, groups of people, or tense situations with diplomacy and tact. Punctuality: ability to complete a required task or fulfill an obligation before or at a previously designated time. Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Personal Characteristics / Other Requirements Grade 12 or relevant NQF4 equivalent. Relevant Bachelors Degree in Business Admin, Marketing and related field Proven experience in business development, sales or related field is essential, with a track record of achieving sales targets Skills Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills Analytical skills for market research Strategy Development
