Job Summary

Hire Resolve is excited to partner with a leading Solar Energy company based in Johannesburg to find a passionate and results-driven Business Development Manager. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving the growth of solar energy solutions, expanding the client base, and establishing strong relationships within the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development:
    • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities in the commercial and industrial solar sector.
    • Drive sales of solar projects, including both outright purchases and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
    • Achieve sales targets, with a demonstrable record of success in quantifiable metrics such as Megawatt hours or Rand value.
  • Proposal Development & Collaboration:
    • Work closely with our engineers, Tsepho, and marketing manager to develop tailored proposals for clients.
    • Articulate technical and financial solutions in a presentable, clear, and compelling manner.
  • Team Leadership:
    • If applicable, set up and manage a high-performing sales team, including hiring, training, and setting sales strategies.
    • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior sales staff.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients within the solar industry.
    • Represent the company in negotiations, meetings, and presentations.
  • Reporting:
    • Report directly to the Managing Director and CFO on sales performance, market trends, and new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in commercial and industrial solar sales, with a strong understanding of both equipment sales and PPAs.
  • Proven track record in sales with demonstrable figures (e.g., Megawatt hours or Rand value).
  • Experience managing a sales team and setting up a successful sales operation is preferred.
  • Experience in working with reputable solar companies is highly desirable.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to develop proposals and financial models.
  • Own reliable transport.
  • Experience working in a reputable solar company preferred.
