About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced HCV Underwriter to join our team in Roodepoort. As an integral part of our underwriting department, you will be responsible for assessing heavy commercial vehicle risks in line with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Assess new business, renewals, endorsements, and mid-term adjustments
Analyse risk profiles including vehicle type, usage, routes, driver history, and claims experience
Determine appropriate premiums, terms, conditions, and excesses
Provide underwriting support and guidance to brokers and internal stakeholders
Ensure compliance with FAIS, FICA, and internal underwriting standards
Maintain accurate underwriting and policy documentation
Contribute to portfolio management and profitability

Requirements

RE5 qualification with full FAIS credits
Minimum 7 years experience as an HCV Underwriter
Strong short-term insurance underwriting experience
Fluent in Afrikaans and English
Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure

Qualifications

Completed RE5 qualification with full FAIS credits
