About the Role
A leading FMCG company in the food and beverage industry is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team in Roodepoort. The role focuses on driving growth initiatives across South and Sub-Saharan Africa by identifying new partners, managing complex projects, and building long-term business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish new business relations with potential co-packers and joint venture partners.
- Investigate and develop new channels to expand food operations into South and Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Lead and manage projects from master planning and CAPEX motivation to execution and transition.
- Conduct technical, financial, and business due diligence on potential partners.
- Prepare post-meeting summaries and present findings to senior management.
- Evaluate internal markets to identify potential and suitable partners that align with company standards.
- Provide accurate and timely project progress reports and feedback to management.
- Manage, train, and develop staff to ensure high performance and effective communication.
Requirements
- Honours Degree required (qualification in Food Science highly preferred).
- 68 years of experience in business development or related roles.
- 68 years of experience working directly with senior management.
- 46 years of proven people management experience.
- Significant experience in the dairy, beverages, or FMCG industry (essential).
- Fluent in Business English.
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Valid Code 08 drivers license.
- Willingness to travel (including overnight stays), work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
