About the Role
Fempower Personnel is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Penalties Administrator to manage technical penalties and ensure fleet compliance for a leading transport organisation based in a workshop environment in Gauteng. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, contracts, and workshop administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Accompany officials during vehicle inspections and sign off on reports
- Record, scrutinise, and investigate all technical penalties
- Verify vehicle defects and review maintenance records (safety checks, services, CORs, breakdowns)
- Compile penalty reports and present findings to internal committees
- Contest technical penalties on behalf of the company
- Monitor daily bus availability, roadworthy certificates, licences, and permits
- Conduct random technical audits and report defects to the workshop
- Maintain detailed penalty and fleet compliance registers
- Liaise with workshop staff and external stakeholders
Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant experience, combining a background as a qualified Diesel Mechanic with technical administration, compliance, or contract management within a transport or workshop environment
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Trade Test Certificate essential)
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Computer literate (MS Office, particularly Excel)
- Diploma in Transport Management / Fleet Maintenance (advantageous)
- In-depth knowledge of transport contracts, vehicle specs, and penalty clauses (highly advantageous)
- Experience in technical administration and workshop environments
- Understanding of bus body structures (advantageous)
