Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Analyse the current health and safety systems and related processes.
- Contribute to the development of the health and safety strategy of the Company.
- Review the existing health and safety procedures to assist
- Develop and maintain productive and/or conducive relationships with stakeholders.
- Measure the risk behaviour of people, coach, and train to achieve a sustainable safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the health and safety events management and planning.
- Ensure that Company processes are well–defined, understood, and executed.
- Continuously improve business and safety processes and systems.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Ensure that management decisions and health and safety incidents/accidents are communicated and understood.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Safety Management or related studies.
- Comsoc 1 and 2
- Blasting Certificate
- Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency (Advantageous)
- Management Development Programme (MDP)(Advantageous)
- Masters in Business Administration or Leadership (MBA/L)(Advantageous)
- in-depth knowledge of ISO Standards implementation, Matrix, and requirements.
- Experience in best incident investigation techniques.
- 5+ years experience in a similar role in the mining industry.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant mine and health safety legislation.
