The venue operates FRI, SAT, SUN & Public Holidays. Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 5 years proven experience in a senior management role within a high-volume restaurant environment. Financial & Systems Knowledge: Strong proficiency in GAAP Essential Operational Expertise: Track record of successfully managing restaurants with turnovers exceeding R3 million per month. Leadership: Strong people management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage large teams effectively. Professional Status: Candidate must currently be employed in a similar role Job Description: Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including hygiene standards. Maintain high-quality service standards and address any operational issues promptly. Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service flow. Financial Management: Monitor and manage the restaurants budget to control costs and maximize profitability. Analyze financial performance, including sales, labor costs, and inventory levels. Prepare and present financial reports to owners/shareholders. Implement strategies to boost revenue, such as promotions or up-selling techniques. Staff Management: Recruit; hire, train, and manage restaurant staff, including front-of-house and kitchen teams. Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage while controlling labor costs. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement disciplinary measures when needed. Foster a positive work environment to maintain high staff morale and retention. Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service and handle complaints or disputes professionally. Monitor and improve the overall guest experience, including food quality, ambiance, and service speed. Act as the face of the restaurant by interacting with guests and building relationships with regular customers. Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Oversee ordering and inventory management to prevent shortages or excess stock. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and pricing. Implement systems to minimize waste and control food costs. Marketing and Promotions: Work with the marketing team to plan and execute promotions, events, or themed nights. Monitor local market trends and competitors to adjust strategies accordingly. Ensure the restaurants social media presence and online reputation are managed effectively. Compliance and Administration: Ensure compliance with licensing, labor laws, and health regulations. Manage payroll, staff documentation, and any administrative tasks. Stay updated on industry standards and implement best practices. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategies for growth and innovation. Collaborate with owners and other managers to align on goals and vision. Introduce new ideas, technologies, or menu items to improve customer experience and efficiency. Problem-Solving and Crisis Management: Resolve operational, staff, or customer issues quickly and effectively. Handle emergencies, such as equipment breakdowns or staffing shortages, with minimal disruption. Key Skills for required for this GM role: Strong leadership and communication skills.
