Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Authorise and allocate business expenditure appropriately.
- Apply critical thinking to evaluate proposed expenses and ensure they are necessary, fair, and within market standards.
- Record transactions accurately and on a daily basis using systems such as Panstrat or manual methods.
- Prepare supplier payment requests and assist in payroll preparation and reconciliations.
- Handle general ledger queries and ensure timely resolution.
- Reconcile all balance sheet items and maintain up-to-date stock records.
- Interpret and analyse management accounts for performance insights.
Reporting
- Meet key finance-related deadlines consistently.
- Provide timely, accurate feedback on management accounts to the Regional Finance Manager.
- Lead monthly finance meetings, communicate outcomes, and escalate to regional finance as needed.
- Assist in compiling budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Support lodge managers and directors with financial queries.
- Aid with year-end audits and reconciliation of accounts, including inter-lodge transactions.
- Supervise finance staff to ensure all duties align with required outputs.
Internal Control & Asset Safeguarding
- Maintain and enforce stock control procedures.
- Participate in month-end stock takes.
- Monitor, design, and update internal control systems. Conduct internal audits and spot checks as needed.
- Investigate and follow up on any losses or potential losses.
- Ensure accurate recording, protection, and proper use of company assets.
- Oversee petty cash, mobile wallets, and bank accounts.
- Conduct audits of safari shop systems and spending to ensure adherence to budget.
Training & Support
- Provide PanStrat system support to staff.
- Train lodge staff in basic accounting principles and practices.
- Review and train front-of-house staff on relevant systems and procedures.
Knowledge & Qualifications Required
- Finance degree or relevant qualification (CPA preferred).
- 3–4 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with PanStrat software is advantageous.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
