About the Role

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a dynamic and highly organised Personal Assistant / Chef for a luxury restaurant based in Somerset West. This unique and varied role requires a candidate with fine dining culinary experience combined with strong administrative and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with restaurant and event food preparation when required
  • Supporting the management team with daily administrative tasks
  • Managing internal and external communications
  • Liaising with guests in a professional and polished manner
  • Assisting with logistics, reporting, and operational coordination
  • Supporting with event planning and execution
  • Monitoring kitchen hygiene standards and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Assisting with food costing and maintaining awareness of food cost management
  • Ensuring tasks are completed efficiently with strong attention to deadlines and timekeeping
  • Supporting HR-related processes and maintaining knowledge of labour legislation

Requirements

Proven fine dining chef experience

Strong administrative and organisational skills

Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage both internal and external correspondence

High standards of hygiene and kitchen discipline

Solid understanding of logistics and operational planning

Knowledge of food costing and kitchen financial controls

Basic understanding of HR processes and labour law

Highly adaptable with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment

Strong sense of responsibility, task completion, and time management
