About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Executive Housekeeper for a luxury 5-star lodge based in Hoedspruit. This role is ideal for a strong leader with a passion for exceptional guest service, high housekeeping standards, and team development within a high-end lodge environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the Housekeeping Division, ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and attention to detail in guest accommodation and all public areas
- Conduct daily room checks to ensure 5-star presentation and service standards are upheld
- Report maintenance issues promptly and oversee pest control measures
- Supervise and manage all laundry operations, including guest, lodge, and staff laundry
- Oversee housekeeping budgets, purchasing, and cost control
- Monitor stock levels of linen, guest amenities, cleaning materials, and in-room items
- Conduct regular stocktakes and manage GRVs, pricing updates, and budget tracking
- Lead, train, and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver exceptional guest service
- Manage staff performance, scheduling, and leave cycles
- Assist with front-of-house duties during guest arrivals, departures, and site inspections when required
- Engage with guests and contribute to an outstanding overall lodge experience
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a Housekeeping Management role within a 5-star lodge or boutique environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and develop staff
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong guest focus with the ability to exceed expectations
- Budgeting and stock control experience essential
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literate
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Positive, energetic, and adaptable with a proactive approach

- Formal education/certifications not specified.
Salary & Benefits
Salary of R12,000 – R14,000 depending on experience. Live-in position with meals provided while on duty. Pension fund. Staff lodge nights. Work cycle of 21 days on, 7 days off. Annual leave of 15 days.
