About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, experienced, skilled and motivated Automotive Electrician Assistant to join our logistics team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will assist our qualified automotive electricians with the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of our fleet vehicles, trucks and earth moving equipment ensuring they are safe, reliable, and roadworthy.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior automotive electricians with diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in vehicles.
- Support routine maintenance tasks, including inspection of wiring, batteries, lights, and other electrical components.
- Help with installation of electrical systems and accessories in fleet vehicles.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and report any issues to the senior electrician.
Requirements
- Must be based in Port Elizabeth.
- Immediate availability.
- Valid driver’s licence (Code B or higher).
- Good understanding of automotive electrical systems essential.
- More than 2 years experience as an Automotive Electrician Assistant in the Logistics Industry or similar.
- Experience working on various trucks, vehicles and earth moving equipment
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a team environment.
- Fit and Healthy
