About the Role
The Auxiliary Toll Collector role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team at Marikana Plaza. As an Auxiliary Toll Collector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our toll booths, interacting with road users, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow start of shift procedure
- Use toll and lane equipment as prescribed
- Classify vehicles as prescribed
- Process all transactions as per the prescribed methods of payment
- Report all incidents, violations, and malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor in the prescribed manner and recording of such
- Handle cash and other documents in the prescribed manner
- Follow end of shift procedure
- Ensure toll booth is clean and tidy at all times
- Ensure self person is neat and presentable while at work
- Maintain excellent relations with road users
- Comply with health and safety and security procedures at work
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Proven experience as a cashier in a user relations environment
- Good communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Excellent interpersonal relationship and conflict management experience
- The ability to deal with road users in a friendly and efficient manner
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Basic computer literacy
- High sense of integrity and trustworthiness
