About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Breakfast Chef to join our dynamic Kitchen team at a premium coastal hospitality establishment in Gansbaai, Western Cape. As a skilled Chef passionate about breakfast cuisine and buffet service, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences and contributing to the success of our refined seaside dining.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook hot, cold, and à la carte breakfast dishes, freshly baked goods, buffet items, and breakfast boat menus.
  • Set up and maintain daily breakfast buffet and package food for boat service.
  • Supervise breakfast kitchen staff, allocate duties, and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and presentation.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently; monitor stock levels and control food costs.
  • Assist with menu adjustments according to guest volumes and preferences.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • Engage with guests professionally and handle special dietary requests courteously.

Requirements

  • Reside in Gansbaai or be willing and able to relocate.
  • Own transport advantageous.
  • Culinary qualification or professional cooking certification preferred.
  • Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate – Level 2 or higher.
  • 1–2 years’ experience as a Breakfast Chef, Line Cook, or similar role.
  • Experience in hotels, lodges, or upmarket hospitality establishments.
  • Proven experience with buffet-style breakfast and high-volume breakfast service.

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (if applicable).

Salary & Benefits

R12 000 – R16 000pm depending on experience.
