About the Role
Safari JOBS Ltd is seeking a dynamic and organised Camp Coordinator to join their team in South Africa’s iconic landscapes. As a key member of the operational heartbeat, you will ensure that hospitality standards, safety compliance, and daily logistics are executed with precision, bridging the gap between a rugged wilderness setting and sophisticated service. This role provides a strategic step forward for those looking to transition into a pivotal coordination and mentorship position, offering the foundational leadership and logistical mastery required to reach the top.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee camp infrastructure, vehicles, equipment, and general maintenance requirements
- Implement and maintain high-end hospitality and housekeeping standards in line with company expectations
- Manage guest arrivals, departures, and overall camp experience
- Collect and manage guest and student feedback to support continuous improvement
- Manage all official camp communication, including camp phone and emails
- Pre-course preparation, including course listings, paperwork, welcome letters, room allocations, food orders, and menu planning
- Manage camp and guest administration, including filing, processing, invoicing, and recordkeeping
- Supervise and coordinate housekeeping, kitchen, and general camp staff
- Allocate duties, manage schedules, and maintain performance standards
- Foster a positive, professional camp culture aligned with the company values
- Ensure compliance with all legal, insurance, health, and safety requirements applicable to camp operations
Requirements
- National Senior certificate (Grade 12)
- Valid driver’s licence
- Recognised qualification (certificate, diploma, or degree) from an accredited hospitality institution formal high-end housekeeping or lodge operations training, preferably from a 5* lodge background
- Approx. 3 – 5 years’ experience in a remote type environment – e.g: safari lodge, hospitality, conservation or tour operating
- Sound understanding of remote camp or lodge operations, preferably in coordination type roles
Qualifications
Formal education/certifications are required for this role.
