About the Role

Farm Manager SA is seeking an experienced Civil Works Site Manager to oversee the construction of roads and services for a residential development in Hilton, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site delivery, coordinating with engineers and surveyors, and ensuring compliance with QA/QC standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site delivery
  • Coordinate with engineers and surveyors
  • Enforce OHS requirements and maintain basic HSE records
  • Drive productivity and quality
  • Conduct daily planning and short-interval control
  • Manage subcontractors and productivity control
  • Programme and progress reporting (weekly look-ahead, daily diaries)
  • Basic measurement (quantities for claims/progress payments) and cost awareness

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in civil township services + roads (concrete roads an advantage)
  • Competent in reading civil drawings/specifications and running day-to-day site delivery
  • Strong planning and people management; ability to drive productivity and quality
  • Driver’s licence; willingness to work on site daily
  • Must-have technical experience in roadworks, services installation, platforms for houses, and construction management

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification (Civil Engineering / Construction Management / foreman training) is beneficial; experience is usually the differentiator
  • Completed matric or higher
