Job Summary
Driving a Code 10 vehicle/ truck to safely transport goods between locations within the Durban Area. Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and company policies. Safely transport hazardous materials in accordance with DGP and Hazchem protocols. Load and unload goods using a forklift machine, ensuring accurate placement and safety. Conduct daily inspections of the forklift machine and report any issues to management. Documentation and Compliance. Accurately complete and maintain delivery documentation, including logbooks, delivery notes, and inspection records. Ensure compliance with Hazchem safety standards and procedures during transportation and handling of hazardous goods. Perform regular vehicle checks (pre-trip and post-trip inspections), ensuring the vehicle is in a safe and roadworthy condition. Report any mechanical issues or repairs needed for both the vehicle and forklift. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials. Maintain professional communication with customers and clients during deliveries. Address and resolve any delivery-related issues in a timely and professional manner. Qualifications and
Requirements:
Code 10 Driver`s License with Dangerous Goods Permit (DGP) for transporting hazardous materials. Hazchem Certification for handling and transporting hazardous chemicals. Forklift Operator License with practical experience. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a professional driver, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry. Good knowledge of road safety regulations and routes in [specific area/region]. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Strong communication and customer service abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
