We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics and Automation Technician/Programmer to join our advanced manufacturing team. This hybrid role requires expertise in both hands-on technical support and advanced programming for robotics and automation systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ABB robotics, Siemens PLCs, and electronics, combining strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to design, program, repair, and optimize automation processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, program, test and troubleshoot ABB robotic systems for manufacturing.

• Design, configure and maintain Siemens PLC programs (TIA Portal, Step 7).

• Integrate robotics, PLCs and electronic control systems into turnkey automation.

• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs to minimise downtime.

• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions (mechanical/electrical/software).

• Restore systems to full operation after faults or failures.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Maintenance on automation strategies.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations and internal best practices.

• Drive continuous improvement for efficiency, productivity and system reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Robotics, Electrical/Automation Engineering, Mechatronics or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).

• 5+ years hands-on experience in:

  • ABB robotics programming, deployment and troubleshooting

  • Siemens PLC (TIA Portal/Step 7) programming & fault-finding

  • Electronics integration and industrial control systems

• Experience with metal stamping/forming a plus.

• Strong understanding of industrial networks and communication protocols.

• Able to read/interpret electrical schematics, instrumentation diagrams and wiring.

• Familiarity with Industry 4.0/IoT and smart manufacturing.

• Proven multi-discipline troubleshooting (mechanical/electrical/software).

• Independent, proactive, and effective communicator with strong documentation skills.
