About the Role
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Design Technology Teacher to join our team in Qatar. As a Design Technology Teacher at Deka Minas (Pty) Ltd, you will inspire students to explore and apply design principles, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills to real-world challenges, fostering creativity and independent thinking within a safe, hands-on learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Design Technology across Key Stages 3 to 5
- Foster innovation, technical understanding, and design thinking among students
- Teach a range of specialisms such as product design, resistant materials, engineering, and digital design
- Guide students in safe and correct use of workshop tools and equipment
- Manage and maintain the design technology lab/workshop to high safety standards
- Assess, track, and report on student progress regularly
- Contribute to curriculum development and extra-curricular design activities or clubs
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular initiatives and projects
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings, training sessions, and school events
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students
Requirements
- 2 years of experience teaching Design Technology at the secondary level in a British curriculum school
- Experience in using tools, machinery, and CAD/CAM software safely and effectively
- International teaching experience (preferred)
- UK/European passport holders preferred
- Bachelors Degree in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or related field (obtained via face-to-face study)
Qualifications
- PGCE Certificate (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) for UK applicants
- SACE Registration for South African applicants
