Our prestigious client in Saudi Arabia’s oil and gas industry is seeking a Process Engineer with deep technical knowledge and industry experience. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to world-class facilities and drive operational excellence across large-scale oil and gas or petrochemical plants.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (Advanced professional degrees preferred)
- 10–15 years’ experience in refining, oil & gas plants, or petrochemical industries
- Strong proficiency in industry codes and standards such as API, ISO, ASME
- Expertise in metering systems, with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with process safety activities (e.g., HAZOP, Risk Assessments) is highly desirable
- Proficient in simulation tools like HYSYS and Promax
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute process studies, design modifications, and operational analysis for existing facilities
- Develop, review, and validate plant mass balances and performance metrics
- Identify and implement operational optimization opportunities
- Use process simulation software to model and evaluate operational scenarios
- Provide technical support to both local and international engineering contractors
- Guide engineering teams during shutdowns and start-ups of facilities
- Review external engineering deliverables for compliance with company standards and operational compatibility
- Prepare cost estimates, expenditure requests, and project justifications
- Interpret engineering codes and standards; ensure regulatory compliance and safety across operations
- Formulate and implement long-term process improvement strategies to enhance performance and reduce cost
- Support multidisciplinary engineering efforts, including material specifications, drafting, and procurement processes
- Monitor construction progress, review design changes, and ensure project completion within scope and budget

- A technically astute professional with hands-on experience in process design, optimization, and safety
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to coordinate cross-functional engineering teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-presented, organized, and able to represent the company in high-stakes project environments
- Fluent in English and capable of managing both technical and commercial discussions
