Job Description

Farm between Graaff-Reinet & Aberdeen in the Eastern Cape is looking for a Couple to take on Gardening & Housekeeping on the property. Duties will include cleaning and housekeeping duties of the homestead and maintenance of the gardens to include both household and outdoor tasks. We are looking for a pro-active couple to act in the owners interest when theyre not in residence, we want two pairs of eyes and expert hands that are reliable; sober and will take care of an extraordinary property as if it was their own. Duties: She: Housekeeping Cleaning Managing the house Laundry Cooking for the family Regularly checking on the condition of the property and reporting any issues to the owners. He: Look after the landscaped gardens around the farmhouse Tend to a small flock of poultry that free range Assist his partner in the house (floors/ fires/ aga etc) Ensuring the overall security of the property Overseeing maintenance and repairs at the homestead Requirements: Grade 12 Formal hospitality qualification At least 2 3 years experience in a hospitality environment Experience in feeding and caring for farm animals Able to ensure that the property is well-maintained, addressing any repairs and landscaping Working effectively as a couple is crucial for this role. Willingness to tackle a variety of tasks, both big and small. Reliability and trustworthiness are essential, especially when the owners are absent. Adaptability to changing needs and unexpected situations. Effectively communicating with owners, staff and contractors. Valid drivers license.
