About the Role

A major South African value retailer specializing primarily in clothing and related merchandise is seeking a Systems Business Analyst who will act as the key interface between Systems Teams, Business, PIT, and 3rd Parties to propose and implement systems and process enhancements, primarily focusing on the Supply Chain and Logistics domain within a Retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • System & Process Enhancement: Employ analytical techniques to identify and propose system and process improvements across the supply chain, from system upgrades to process optimizations.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary interface, ensuring clear communication and alignment between technical teams (Systems, IT, 3rd Parties) and business units (PIT, Logistics, Supply Chain).
  • Documentation & Design:
  • Proficiently document business requirements and process maps for supply chain and warehouse operations.
  • Utilize Unified Modeling Language (UML) to analyze processes and enhance system designs and operational workflows.
  • WMS/ERP Management: Apply hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems to drive enhancements.
  • Efficiency Optimization: Lead initiatives to optimize warehouse layouts, improve picking/packing processes, and enhance overall distribution center efficiencies.
  • System Lifecycle & Support:
  • Oversee and execute comprehensive testing protocols for supply chain systems.
  • Collaborate with IT/vendors on systems integrations and technical support.
  • Develop and deliver targeted training programs and provide ongoing support for implemented systems.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate (Matric)
  • A relevant Degree or Higher National Diploma
  • 2-5 years experience in a Supply Chain and Logistics role, specifically within the Retail sector
  • Demonstrated experience with WMS and familiarity with ERP systems
  • Proven ability to optimize core supply chain processes (procurement, inventory, warehousing, distribution, logistics)
  • Working knowledge of System Architecture (integration environment/technical competency) and basic Oracle / SQL
  • WMS expertise, supply chain analytics, and industry standards (specifically in the Apparel Retail context)
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Change Control
  • Working knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies and principles
  • Familiarity with PMBOK and BABOK management principles
  • Knowledge of Personal Data Protection (POPIA)
