About the Role

The Guide and Lodge Manager Couple is a unique opportunity for an experienced couple to join our lodge team, providing exceptional guest experiences while managing daily operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hospitality, conservation, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist guests during their stay.
  • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction and customer service.
  • Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests.
  • Coordinate guest activities and experiences.
  • Oversee daily lodge operations, including cleanliness, maintenance, and operational standards.
  • Monitor reservations, check-ins, and check-outs.
  • Manage lodge administration and reporting.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate lodge staff.
  • Prepare staff schedules and duty rosters.
  • Ensure staff comply with lodge policies and procedures.
  • Assist with budgeting and cost control.
  • Monitor stock levels and lodge supplies.
  • Handle cash control and basic financial administration.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain emergency and security procedures.
  • Conduct guided game drives, walks, or tours.
  • Share knowledge about wildlife, nature, culture, and conservation.
  • Ensure guest safety during activities.
  • Educate guests on conservation practices.
  • Promote environmental sustainability and responsible tourism.

Requirements

  • Lodge Manager Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, or related field.
  • Guide Recognised Tourist Guide qualification.
  • Valid guiding certification and permits.
  • First Aid certificate and valid driver’s licence with PDP (where required).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in hospitality or lodge management.
  • Previous guiding experience in a lodge, reserve, or safari environment.
  • Experience in guest relations and staff supervision.
  • Knowledge of lodge and hospitality operations.
  • Wildlife, conservation, and tourism practices.
  • Health and safety regulations.
  • Customer service and guest experience management.
