About the Role
Edgexec (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced logistics professional to lead our entity in Malawi, driving strategic growth and operational excellence. As Head of Entity, you will establish and manage logistics services, drive commercial expansion, and set direction for a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage logistics operations in Kenya, ensuring alignment with group strategy and regional growth priorities.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities in freight forwarding and contract logistics.
- Oversee end-to-end freight forwarding activities across air, sea, and road transport.
- Develop and manage warehousing, distribution, and value-added services within contract logistics.
- Oversee cross-border operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and seamless cargo movement.
- Build and maintain strong customer, vendor, and regulatory authority relationships.
- Drive supply chain optimisation initiatives to enhance service quality and reduce cost.
- Design and implement integrated intermodal and multimodal transport solutions.
- Manage P&L, ensuring profitability, cost control, and commercial performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics team.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years senior experience in logistics, with strong exposure to freight forwarding and contract logistics.
- Deep understanding of East African logistics markets, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Proven leadership capability with a track record of achieving operational and commercial success.
- Strong industry network across service providers, authorities, and key customers.
- Customer-centric approach with the ability to convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
