Job Specification General Manager (Re-Branding of Two Boutique Hotels, Montenegro)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the re-branding, positioning, and overall management of two distinctive boutique properties in Montenegro:

• A 5-star luxury international brand hotel with 30 keys, located on a private island, featuring two restaurants and a small spa (seasonal).

• A 28-key property with one restaurant, operating year-round.

The GM will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, service standards, and financial performance, while ensuring the successful re-introduction of both hotels to the market.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership & Re-Branding

  • Oversee the re-branding process, ensuring alignment with brand standards, positioning, and guest experience.

  • Implement sales, marketing, and distribution strategies to establish strong market presence.

• Operations Management

  • Lead all operational departments (Rooms, F&B, Spa, Guest Experience).

  • Ensure consistent delivery of 5* service standards across both properties.

  • Implement SOPs and training programs to maintain high-quality guest experiences.

• Commercial & Financial Performance

  • Drive revenue growth through effective yield management, upselling, and cross-property synergies.

  • Oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.

  • Monitor KPIs, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

• Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor department heads and staff.

  • Foster a positive and service-driven culture across both properties.

  • Build strong local community and partner relationships.

• Owner & Brand Relations

  • Act as key liaison with owners and international brand representatives.

  • Provide regular reports, business insights, and recommendations.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a General Manager or senior hotel leadership role, ideally with exposure to luxury boutique or resort operations.

• Strong understanding of both seasonal resort and year-round property management.

• Experience with hotel re-branding, repositioning, or pre-opening an advantage.

• Commercially driven with solid knowledge of revenue management, sales, and digital distribution.

• Fluent in English; additional regional languages highly desirable.

• Ideally from the Balkan/Montenegro/Adriatic region or with strong knowledge of the market.

• Hands-on, guest-focused, and adaptable leader with strong cultural awareness.
