This is a junior culinary position responsible for preparing daily staff meals, supporting the main kitchen team, and assisting with scullery duties when required. The Canteen Chef plays an important role in ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly behind the scenes. The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious, wellbalanced staff meals on time each day. The Junior / Canteen Chef will also assist the senior chefs with basic prep, mise en place, and kitchen organisation. Scullery duties form the final part of the role and are shared as needed. The lodge is located within approximately 30km of Vaalwater, reached via a mostly rugged gravel road – successful candidates must be able to arrange their own transport for days off and personal errands. This is a remote, onsite living position with single accommodation; candidates must be comfortable living in a quiet, rural environment. Due to the nature of the accommodation and operational requirements: family, children and pets cannot be accommodated.
