About the Role
The Junior Guide supports the guiding and guest experience team in delivering exceptional safari experiences. This role is ideal for a passionate individual at the start of their guiding career who is eager to grow, learn, and contribute to the overall success of lodge operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior guides in conducting game drives, bush walks, and safari activities
- Host guests professionally and ensure a memorable and safe wilderness experience
- Deliver basic interpretive information on wildlife, ecology, and conservation
- Maintain guiding equipment, vehicles, and guest areas in excellent condition
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and reserve regulations
- Assist with vehicle checks, radio communication, and trip preparation
- Support conservation initiatives and report wildlife sightings and concerns
- Contribute positively to team morale and lodge culture
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs
- Represent the lodge in a professional, friendly, and knowledgeable manner at all times
Requirements
- FGASA Level 1 (minimum requirement)
- Valid PDP / PrDP First Aid certification
- Rifle competency (preferred)
- Valid drivers licence
- Valid medical certificate (advantageous)
