About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled L2 System Engineer to join our team at Greys Recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT infrastructure, networking, and cloud environments, with experience in leading or contributing to large-scale IT transformation projects and service model transitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support advanced L2 infrastructure, systems, and cloud operations in a hybrid IT environment
- Design, implement, optimise, and maintain hybrid cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and VMware platforms
- Drive the adoption of proactive, data-driven IT services through AI, automation, and analytics tools
- Implement and manage cybersecurity controls, threat detection, and incident response processes
- Integrate and maintain AI-based security tools, including SIEM platforms and endpoint protection solutions
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven experience in an L2 Systems Engineer, Senior Support Engineer, or similar role
- Strong expertise in IT infrastructure, networking, virtualisation, and hybrid cloud environments
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, including solution design and optimisation
- Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware
Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent
- Microsoft Azure Administrator/Architect
- VMware VCP
- Cybersecurity certifications (Security+, CISSP, CISM)
- ISO 27001, ITIL, COBIT, PRINCE2, PMP, or Scrum certifications (advantageous)
Salary & Benefits
R35,000 – R40,000 per month, dependent on experience and qualifications.
