About the Role
The Nelson Mandela University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lecturer in Applied Artificial Intelligence to join our team of academic experts. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, designing, developing, facilitating, and administering learning and teaching processes for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the School of Information Technology, Department of Software Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Contribute to the creation of knowledge by virtue of postgraduate studies, publications, and supervision.
- Perform academic administration.
- Incorporporate trends with regard to learning and teaching to ensure a student-centred learning experience.
- Maintain relevant and up-to-date learning and teaching material by integrating latest trends.
- Participate in projects targeted at community service and engagement.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with minimum average of 70%.
- Interest in Artificial Intelligence technologies and ability to engage in Applied Artificial Intelligence research.
- Experience with Internet programming, Python, C#, and database design is an advantage.
- Sound knowledge in the theory and application of Artificial Intelligence, including software, hardware, technical, as well as human aspects, will be an advantage.
- Having both lecturing and industry experience is an advantage.
