About the Role
Objective Personnel is seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead our team in the Mauritius office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior leadership, project management, and mechanical engineering, with extensive experience in the mining or mineral processing industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight of complex projects, focusing on grinding circuits, ball mills, and comminution systems
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to technical specifications
- Act as senior technical authority, leveraging mechanical engineering expertise to support engineering and project teams
- Guide equipment selection, design review, installation, commissioning, and optimization of grinding and ball mill systems
- Ensure adherence to international engineering, safety, and quality standards
- Drive continuous improvement in project management, engineering quality, and operational efficiency
- Take full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance
- Oversee contract negotiation, risk management, and commercial decision-making
- Ensure strong governance, compliance, and reporting standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree or MBA advantageous)
- Extensive senior leadership experience in the mining or mineral processing industry
- Proven track record managing large-scale projects, specifically involving grinding and ball mills
- Strong background in project execution, engineering management, and operations
- Experience working across Africa or emerging markets is highly desirable
